Of pirates, anti-pirates, and traders.
Here is a thread I started on the VO forums that may be of interest to some of you here.

Meh. I started to respond on the forum and got disgusted with what I was writing. I am not going to get into another 'pirate qualification' discussion.

{ a lot of rant deleted ]

Sorry m8. The subject just pissed me off and reminded me why I'm not playing.

That said, I am not happy with the direction the devs are going. I am seriously less optimistic about my eventual return. Even though the last couple of days I'd softened a bit and was wanting to get in there and mix it up in b8.

I read the rant you deleted... since I am subscribed to all of the forum and it comes in per email. So, I actually get where you are coming from and all, and I mostly agree with you. I would play alot more if the game would get those handful of basic things they promised YEARS AGO, instead of sidetracking with BS, new code, trac systems and what not like border war (who cares). anyway, thats just what I think.

Dont feel bad, Retractile. Just hang out here as you have and return when the game gets better. Hopefully soon TM.

Sorry guys. I'm honestly not trying to be a downer. I think I may have invested a bit too much into the game because I seem to take it too personally. The games biggest strength is in the quality of its community. Which is why I'm still around. Its also what I miss about being in game. At any rate, I do hope to return despite my frustrations, but at the very least, I think its clear that I need more of a cooling off period.

That makes a lot of sense, Retractile. It's frustrating to wait around forever for something you think is just around the corner. Don't put too much on the devs, they are sort of figuring this out as they go. Perspective can be a healthy side effect of taking a break, it's good to hear you're enjoying other things in the meantime.
