Possible Return
Hey guys! So I've been away from the game for quite sometime. I had a daughter, got divorced, and became a single parent. This basically took away any extra time I have had in the last couple of years. However, recently my daughter has started kindergarten and I may start seeing a bit of time for more of my own activities that I enjoy. That made me wonder how everyone I know in the Vendetta-verse has been these last few years! Glad to see that VPR is still an active guild also, that made me smile. So in the next few months once I renew my subscription you may start seeing an old face start popping up in-game! How have you all been? -Niut |

I'm a new guy! I think I have been most active pilot as of late as well. VO is certainly growing though. So many new features since you've been gone, for sure. I have a son that has just started kindergarten as well. I actually just started letting him play VO. He loves it. I wrote some plugins that makes it easier for me to help him out from my machine. Maybe we can get together and I'll share my resources with you. Glad to see another old time VPR potentially coming back into the fold. Look forward to chatting with you more. |

So funny story, I fired up the game after I resubbed. My framerate was dreadfully low, so I went to select my video driver and for some reason all I have to choose from was DirectX 9, and OpenGL. I ran DxDiag and it says I have DirectX 10 installed. This makes absolutely no sense, so I updated Video Card Drivers and went through a bunch of stuff. But it still only says I have DirectX 9 drivers in the game lol. I ended up running it on OpenGL drivers and now it seems to run fine, if anyone knows why this is happening I'd appreciate the help. Until then I'll run in OpenGL, and I'll see you in-game on the weekend more than likely!. Also I'm running a really old rig with Windows Vista SP 1 64 bit haha. I can't install SP 2 on this thing because the computer came with a partitioned HDD for recovery and somehow that screws up the update when I try and install SP 2 and it fails every time... Gonna have to break down and get a new CPU in the next year or so considering I haven't had Microsoft support since 2012! -Niut |

Thanks Strat. Good to see your still around old friend! Hopefully I can still aim at something and actually hit it :P. There was a quarter inch of dust on my old Wingman Joystick that I was glad to wipe off. -Niut |

Hey Niut'Likatisin! I'm sorry to hear about your divorce; I hope it was for the best. I have a son in preschool, kindergarten next year. I've been very busy with work, but I appreciate Vendetta as a fine game. I don't always have time to play, but when I do it strikes me how mellow the payoffs are compared to a game such as, for example, Elder Scrolls Legends which has a very quick loop. This is one of the reasons it makes such a great game in my book, although after 1,700 logged hours I'm finding I have less energy for it than in the past. It's like returning to a village I grew up in, appreciating the ways it has changed and maybe partaking in a local custom or two. I haven't run a patrol in some time, but it would be a nice thing to give the newest crop of rats a scare, and maybe some veteran pirates as well. edit: here's little fang :-) https://photos.app.goo.gl/6lhbS1c12xai7Dnj1 |

Niut...Wow! So good to hear from you. I came in game the other day and found that a lot of pirates are newbs and were easy pickings. It would be great to do some patrols with you. |

Hey guys, As it turns out, being a single parent with a full-time job is making it extremely hard for me to get in-game. I have cancelled my subscription for now, but I will continue to hang around the boards. Times have changed, I remember sitting drinking a cold one and enjoying VO all day haha, now I'm running around in circles all day trying to catch my own tail! Anyway, if something changes and I have more free time I will be renewing my subscription. Niut |
