Well they have an alpha of sorts. They call it a "combat prototype". I wrote about it in the VO thread I linked above. http://www.infinity-universe.com/Infinity/infinity_combat_proto.php It basically just gives you an idea of what the PvP will be like in the final game. For now, it's just a pretty cool space quake. You can't land on planets or travel at near infinite speed the way you will be able to in the final game (they've implemented a temporary speed cap because they haven't set up a lot of the procedural elements yet, so space is limited). It's certainly worth checking out. I've been browsing their forums for the last couple of days and it looks like it could really be amazing. I posted some other thoughts on the VO thread I posted above. |

They say probably not. I ran it in bootcamp (parallels was a no-go). They say there might be a linux version after the windows release. |

I did some sketch work for their contributions group. Definitely a good, promising concept. Especially since the guy making the rendering engine singlehandedly is among the high pantheon of great 3D engine designers as far as I'm concerned :P. Also, you guys want some really fun, see what you find about in on youtube. You can see what sort of seamless procedural stuff he's doing. When I first saw the planet to orbit video I almost teared up. For a Serco, this is no mean feat. |
