waterrat - Application
Greetings all. i want to become a viper. i am Itani (admire) and have neutral or better standing with all factions except serco (hated - but working on it). my licenses are 10/9/8/8/1 i have limited PvP experience but that is something else i'm working on ;-) ive been playing for 3 weeks, i'm on most nights between 10pm and 2am GMT - sometimes other times. I was rescued by a viper when id only been playing for three days, i was cornered in Dau by Retractile, he destroyed my ship twice and would do it again every time i tried to leave. Ishathis Bessuni *GAVE* me a power cell upgrade and an escort back into Itani space. No charge. This struck me as both honourable and friendly. i want to be like that. i want to help protect defenceless, often cargo-less noobs from being pirated just because they are exploring and because the pirate thinks its ok to spoil the game for others. Peaceful activities should be protected, and if i get to nail pirates along the way so much the better. much respect to the vipers, waterrat |

Hey buddy! I knew I'd be seeing you agian :w00t: Your thinking is somewhat off. What about the 'defenceless, often cargo-less noobs' not participating in the RP aspect of this fabulous RPG that we participate and spoiling the game for those who actually want to participate in a specific role? See! I can whinez too ;) Anyways, VPR is a great guild. Hey waterrat. I believe at one time or another when you first started I killed a pirate that was on your trail also. Good to see you applied, and I look forward to flying with you more! For now, work on that serco standing, and buddy as many Vipers as you can in-game so we can get to know you a little better. The council will review your application in the mean time. -Niut |

incredible, you retractile, are a griefer. you relentlessly destroy noobs before they have a chance to learn anything about RP or anything else. I will not engage you in a flame war on here, instead i will take your advice, and with a little help from my friends, get better and get even. you owe me four ships. Hey, waterrat. Thanks for the application. I'm glad we've been helpful to you. We actually engage in friendly RP with some friendly pirates, and are friendly (out-of-charatcer) with many players who RP as pirates. Retractile usually is one of the friendlier pirates, and we certainly don't consider him a griefer. However, we of course kill him every chance we get. If you think he's bad, wait until you meet some of the real nasty pirates. Piracy is a role, as is anti-piracy, and we wouldn't exist without them. It makes for interesting and fun gameplay. I think Ret's comments here were meant to be tongue-in-cheek and actually fairly friendly, and weren't intended to be aggressive in the way you took them. Anyway, it sounds like you've come to the right place and I hope to fly with you soon. |

Four ships? How do you figure? You said I destroyed you twice. The first time when you didn't pay, the second when you shot at me. quick update! standing improved (and improving) serco and itani admired, UIT respected (admired by tomorrow evening) mooochas gratias for the teaching today Atice, escorting is pirate proof fun of the highest callibre, and hunting in packs is about a 10 on the invincibility scale!! thanks, more news to follow |

RP on VO shouldn't bring anyone to their "Tilt" point and the Viper guild has a healthy way of dealing with it. |

waterrat quit being a twit and enjoy the game. All your doing is making yourself a victim. So what if your not good at pvp yet. I was sorely dissappointed to see you standing off by the wh during last nights fighting. GET IN THERE AND GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY M8! Its the only way your going to get better. You should be more than able to afford a few deaths by now. Geesh! Have fun dude. :P Also, man up! Having your ship blown up isn't going to put you in the hospital. You don't need to hide behind your 'vpr friends'. Retractile you are mistaken once again. relax 'buddy' i wasn't standing off at any wh i got stuck in.. i need a few seconds to get my bearings after the jump but thats it. its just a game dude, i wasn't threatening to come round your house with my mates, just that in game, if i'm aligning myself with VPR then.....well..... me and my mates will shoot you alot...... yes? nothing could make you want to shoot me more :w00t: unless...... oh wait, you don't mean at the Dau/Nyrius wh do you? when it was just you and me? because the only reason i didn't go for it there is because it would've tanked the standing i've worked so hard to get |

Sorry bud, but the entire time you were in Latos O12 while I was there, you sitting at the wh and not engaged in the conflict. Far longer than it takes to 'get your bearings'. You also misunderstand me. I've no objection to your aligning yourself with VPR, ITAN, The Nation of Islam or Willy Wonka. The way you express yourself leads one to the conclusion that you think that because you'll be 'with your friends' we should be frightened. Maybe the real world operates that way, but VO doesn't. It just makes you look like a sissy who gets to hide behind the real men because you do their laundry. So, I'm quite well relaxed, thank you for checking. Perhaps you should reread your own posts to see what silliness is in them, which I've been responding to. look, i'm not making myself out to be the victim. If you perceive my comments that way its about your perception, not my intention. I was only a 'victim' once, the first time we met in game when you took advantage of my lack of knowledge and standing for your own amusement. That hasn't happened since, and it wont happen again i am already in training. i am already looking to 'kick ur ass' - i may not be able to beat you yet, but you'd be surprised at what i can do. :w00t: |

and an update, i am now admired by itani, serco, uit, tgp and corvus, all others are neutral and i'm working on them. had my first 'fair and square' 1v1 PvP kill last night, it felt goooooooooooood :w00t: |

oh Ret, you so funny :w00t: my original point was. just because your not 'a griefer' doesn't mean you can't occasionally 'grief' someone. when you attacked me first, it wasn't because i had a slow ship or what ever, you weren't taking advantage of the fact that i 'couldn't fight/had a slow ship' although that would have been just as bad, you were being aggressive toward someone who at the time, had no idea that RP was even part of the game, from my point of view, you were just some evil expert intent on never letting me leave that station. you did this because i had no standing at the time, and there was absolutely no risk to you. pretty cowardly from someone who thinks that i should 'man up' isnt it? newb hunting? from someone of your experience? shame on you, pick on somone ur own size. oo oo, by the way, how much do you wanna shoot me now? more than before? |

Umn. I think you may be confusing me with someone else. I shot you twice. The first time because you refused to pay, the second because you fired missiles at me. You would have only died only once that day if you had not fired at me. If you had stopped and paid or attempted to negotiate passage, you likely would not have died at all. And there is plenty of risk. There are UTM and VPR who harrass me at my favorite hunting sites. I sacrifice my standing when the target is plump enough. The only reason I'm bothing with this post, is because you sound like someone was station camping you. Twernt me. I even told you over sector chat that you were free to travel when I saw you the second time as is my habit. At least you have a sense a humor.
