- Why do you want to become a Viper? I believe that traders and miners should be able to roam free about the universe without fear of being attacked. - What is your nation? UIT, enlisted in the Serco military - What are your license levels? 4/3/2/5/7, but I am currently working to raise the first three categories. - What are your faction standings? Admired: ---------- UIT TPG Respected: ------------ Itani Valent Orion Axia Neutral: ------------ Serco BioCom Tunguska Aeolus Ineubis Xang Xi Disliked: ------------ Corvus Prime - How long have you been playing VO? I have played for two months, but there was a three month gap between the first and presently. This was due to not having a steady internet connection, however I now have my own private 2mbps line. - What is your level of experience and proficiency in regards to PvP combat? I have very little experience, but I plan to practice this skill with several friends online in duels, and potentially take training from Nahin - How did you hear about us? Shlimazel - How often do you play, what times do you normally play, and what is your time zone? I usually play several hours per day, any time from 4pm-12pm. I am most likely to be on after 8pm. I am in the Eastern US time zone. |

Thanks for the app, skelbley08. It was good talking to you in-game tonight. Your application is under review by the Council. In the mean time, try to fly with as many Vipers as you can so we can get to know you. I look forward to seeing you in-game again and we'll definitely get around to that combat training soon. |

Friday, July 31st, 2009 ---------------------------------------------- * Spent a while with shlimazel and Valkyr Anason hunting FusionBurn around Sedina and Latos, before finally calling it quits when his lag became too severe to do any damage. Took a faction standing hit killing him inside Orion territory, but it was totally worth it. * Installed Targetless and ToasterCrush, per shlimazel's recommendation. I am spending some time getting used to their functions and capabilities. * Switched to a Linux OS to prevent being kicked off mid-flight from VO crashes. * Engaged in some PvP in Sedina B-8, and lost spectacularly. Learned some lessons though. |

Just a quick note, I'm testing running VO in Ubuntu 9.10, and am having driver issues (I have a Dell...grr.) If you catch me online and I log off suddenly, I'm doing testing and the like. Just leave me a message, and I'll get back to you. Apologies in advance to anyone who accidentally gets ignored today :erm: I should have the issues worked out by later this evening, tomorrow at latest. Nice flying with you, Vipers! :) |

Saturday, August 1st, 2009 ---------------------------------------------- * Spend several hours in a group chasing Ardenus and Impdavid, when several more joined in. Had my first real experience in PvP furballs, and died. A lot. * Introduced my brother, Snuper50, to Strat and urged him to apply to VPR. *On a side note, it seems that VO has fixed the OpenGL bug, so my system should be much more stable and reliable. Although the new asteroids are causing quite a bit of system lag. |

You have been granted the rank of recruit, skelbley. Continue to fly with as many Vipers as you can and act as a full Viper at all times. Feel free to tell people you are an official Viper recruit. I look forward to flying with you more. |

You wouldn't happen to be having issues with a slightly older ATI video card, would you? I happen to know ALL about those and may be able to give you a hand. Of course, mine is currently not quite working with VO, and I'm out of the country for about three weeks. Still, I know a bit about these cards on Linux and may be able to give you a pointer or two. |

Thanks Strat! And no, I have a Dell Inspiron 1525 with an Intel GMA 965 chipset. I've got an email in to the devs, and I'm supposed to hear back within the hour. Which brings me to my next point... VPR, I may not be on in the next few days. I'm having serious graphics troubles, and the most I can do is log on and sit in the station. I can leave, but the lag is terrible. I'm trying everything I can think of, but I'm not exactly well-versed in this graphics stuff, so I'm not touching any config files unless someone has an idea. Which, ideas are more than welcome lol. Just wanted to let you guys know. I'm glad to be a Recruit, and I definitely want to stay with the guild, but I'm not sure when I'll be on again. I'm pursuing all available options. I'll keep in touch on here until I get something worked out. |

Well, I rescind my previous statement. After contacting the devs, they discovered the problem and released an update tonight to fix it. Woo hoo! |

Congrats skelbley awesome job! Remember everyone dies a lot when starting PvP it's all about practice, and I'm telling you, you are getting there fast. ;D |

Thanks all! By the way, a quick note; I've been mulling over it a while, and I decided to change my user/character name. One quick stop on the internet, and a random name generator gave me Aurelius Sol. So if you see anyone in game with that name, it's me. Repeat, character name is now "Aurelius Sol" |

Heh. It'll take a little bit of getting used to. All of the people who have you as buddies will automatically have your name updated on their buddy lists, so it shouldn't be too hard for people to figure it out. |
