VPR Applicant: Neatchee
In-game name: Nitci Nation: Itani License levels: 9/9/7/8/4 Faction Standings: Itani :: +965 Serco :: -128 UIT :: +200 BioCom :: -200 Corvus :: +922 Ineubis :: -306 (damn CtC :-( ) Time playing VO: 1month 1week PvP Exp. & Proficiency: I've been randomly PvPing between getting my license levels and faction sorted out. I've been doing a decent amount of border skirmish as well. I'm not unfamiliar with pvping in a larger sense. PvP is almost always the end-game for me in online gaming, though I'm more partial to team oriented play over dueling. The point is, the strategy and mindset required to excel in PvP is not lost on me. Play time: US Eastern time zone (-5gmt). I'm a student and a freelance tech consultant so any time I'm not in class, I'm usually in front of my computer, playing some game while I wait for new work to come in. I've been playing VO aprrox. 10 hours a week, usually an hour or two between 6-12pm, as non-specific as that is, heh. Why do I want to become a viper: In addition to my natural disdain for griefers (which extends to pirates insofar as anyone who looks to ruin others fun or well-being simply for their own gain), VPR has struck me as one of the few guilds in VO comprising a group of honorable and genuinely altruistic people, two things I hold in high regard both personally and in others. How did you hear about us: First day in VO, in /100, a member of VPR was advertising escort and pirate monitoring services, and /4357. Been in that channel ever since, and when it came time to start looking for a guild, it seemed like a natural fit. Thanks for the consideration! Let me know if there's anything I can do to meet any standards I haven't :D |

Your application is under review by the Council, Nitci. In the mean time, check into the forum often. I look forward to flying with you more. |

Aye. Sorry I logged suddenly. My computer crashed. My laptop doesn't seem to like VO, so I may not be able to get in-game at all anymore until my desktop is fixed. |

Phaserlight: The pleasure was all mine. You made Niut and my lives far easier by making Isaac look bad twice in a row while we were on escort heh. Strat: No worries. I needed a break anyway heh. Stomach was grumbling at me. Meanwhile, have you tried running a LiveCD (ubuntu perhaps?) and copying your VO installation to a removable drive? Might let you keep playin VO until your new HDD comes next week. |

Enh. I can picture the amount of work that would take to work correctly (if it could at all). I'll just have to wait until next week. I'll still be around here on the forum until then. |

You could just log in and sit in a station and hope that your mere presence online scares all the rats away, Strat. |

Re: VPR Applicant: Neatchee
That's been my approach so far with my laptop, Sembei, but like I said, VO seems to crash my laptop, even if I just sit in-station. |

Re: VPR Applicant: Neatchee
What sort of crash exactly? Crash to desktop, or crash to BSOD/kernel panic/reboot/other? |

Re: VPR Applicant: Neatchee
It's either giving me a total system freeze or a kernel panic. It seems to alternate both. It may be related to CPU temperature. |

You're not fooling anyone. You don't log in anymore because the game is broken, not because you're afraid of Strat. |

It's still more likely that my (relative) inactivity also has something to do with it than you being logged in, sir. :P |

Re: VPR Applicant: Neatchee
I've been wondering, Your in game name is Nitci, your forum name suggests it's pronounced "Neatchee"... are you Nietzsche? |

Re: VPR Applicant: Neatchee
Hahaha, indeed. In my senior year of highschool i took a course on existentialism. One of the philosophers we studied was obviously Nietzsche. Found some of his work fascinating, so I took up the moniker in the online world. Unfortunately, nobody could pronounce the damn name on Ventrilo, so one day I showed up with the name (Neatchee) and was like "Look, asshats, Neat-chee. NEAT-CHEE! Get it?!" and it kinda stuck. Nobody ever mispronounces it, and it's always available as a username. The "Nitci" variation came about when I already had a character named Neatchee in a particular MMO. Alternative spelling, identical pronunciation. EDIT: I realize that you might be referring to the VO player "Nietzsche." No, I am not he. |
