Application!
Alrighty so here's my application! I want to become a Viper because I want to be in a well known guild that earns the respect of other players not through the most kills or being the biggest badasses, but through actions and a sense of duty(since this is how i live my own life). I'd like to be one of those players people turn to for help, be it advice, protection, or if theyre in a spot financially, i can toss them some credits! Another reason is that I don't feel like playing them game alone anymore, I'd like to have some people I know I can count on if I need help or advice. Also, I was pirated recently, and while Quirc Taranis is a funny guy...he blasted me simply because a member of Viper showed up and then ran off. I found this to be a rather rude and disrespectful "standard protocol" as he called it. My nation is Serco and my Licenses are currently 3/3/2/6/2. My faction Standings are Admired in Serco, Neutral in UIT(although since i did just get laid off, I'm spending free time upping my UIT rep), and Hated in Itani but that is only due to my starting Nation and I plan on working that up once I get Admired in UIT space. All other factions are Neutral to me save Axia which Dislikes me(started that way I think, since Ive never done anything to them). I've been playing VO for a little over a month and I feel like I want to get more involved in the game's community. Regarding PvP, I just recently started trying it out. I've been told by people that I'm a good dodger, but I'm still trying to work on being a better shot. I heard about Viper through Strat, and ironically, Quirc Taranis, although Strat really sold me on wanting to join since he made the guild sound like something that many people look to in various situations :) I usually play everyday for a few hours at a time, I think the longest I played in a row was about 6 hours.. Once I get a job it will probably be mostly in the evenings and nights, but currently its whenever Im able to(as mentioned earlier, just got laid off). My time zone is Central US, same as the devs! So there you have it! I know I'm really new and all, but I would like to level myself not just for me but for a cause. I find leveling for the sake of leveling rather dull. Id like to be able to say "Alright...gotta hit Combat 5 so I can start protecting people in *insert dangerous area*" you know? Thanks for the opportunity! |

It's been good flying with you so far, Furor. Try to get your levels up to at least 4/4/4/-/- and try to get your Itani standing up to neutral as well. I look forward to flying with you more soon. |

Okay so, I'm in a bit of a spot here and Atice told me to post it here, so here i go. A bunch of newer players decided to make an anti-rat trading guild called the Association of Free Traders(AFT), and one of them asked me to join just to help get the guild to official status. I did so, planning on leaving today, figuring theyd have the members they needed and i could just pop out now. Unfortunately, they have not been made official yet, and the game is telling me I cannot leave until the guild is official(or expires if not made official). I did not realize that this would be the case when i decided to help them out. I do still very much want to join VPR, and I will leave the AFT asap as it was not my intent to stay in it(and their leader knows this). Just letting you know VPR is still my only goal and that the AFT incident is simply an uninformed mistake on my part. Just so you guys don't think Im bailing on you etc. Oh and an update for you guys regarding levels and standing. Itani Standing is now at Admired(+633 i think), UIT is Respected(still working on that), and levels are now 5/5/3/8/3. Im almost at Heavy 4, hopefully in a day or so I can get that to 4. |

That's fine, Furor. Once their guild is up and running, just leave. We won't hold it against you in the meantime. Lots of new players make lots of new guilds, not realizing how hard it is to maintain an active guild in VO. Not to put "AFT" down, but it is very unlikely that they will last, especially considering that from your brief description, it sounds like their role is already taken by TGFT, which is extremely well-established. I hope you have patience with our recruitment process. You were still a very new player when you applied, so there were a lot of basic things like levels and faction that we wanted to see you achieve before we officially accepted you into the guild. It sounds like you're progressing nicely. Once you get up to heavy weapons level 4, you'll have all the basic requirements that we look for. Hopefully, the experience of working on faction standing and levels has helped you learn things about the game in general that will be useful to you once you become a Viper. We haven't forgotten about you and we're following your progress closely. Thank you for the update and keep checking into the forum regularly. |

You have been granted the rank of recruit, Poeticus. Continue to work on PvP and fly with as many Vipers as you can. Act as if you were a full Viper both when other Vipers are with you and when they are not. Feel free to tell people you are a Viper recruit. Welcome. |

Furor, nice patrol today. Too bad you couldn't stay for the whole thing :). I got Azrael trying to enter Sedina about 5 or 6 more times after you left, then had to log myself. Nevertheless, great job on the patrol. Finding both Inco and Azrael on one patrol is a good catch. |
